European Patent: System and Method for Forecasting Complex Events

ISTS Deputy Director Professor Alexander Artikis, together with Professor Elias Alevizos and Dr. Georgios Paliouras, has been awarded a European patent by the European Patent Office (EPO) for the invention “System and Method for Forecasting Complex Events.” The patented approach enables the forecasting of complex events by identifying and learning patterns in evolving data streams. Its foundational concepts were first introduced in the publication Complex Event Forecasting with Prediction Suffix Trees.
